Winners set to represent India at the Indo-Japan International Championship in July 

New Delhi [India], January 22: The World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organization (WFSKO) India successfully organized the All India Karate Championship on January 4, 2026, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, Delhi. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of nearly 350 young athletes from various states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kolkata, Kerala, Mumbai, and Goa.

Final Standings:
After a series of intense and disciplined matches, the Punjab team secured the First Position, emerging as the overall champions. The team from Uttar Pradesh claimed the Second Position, while Jammu and Kashmir finished Third.

Dignitaries & Awards:
The event was graced by Chief Guests Dr. Shikha Darbari (Ex-Chief Commissioner, IRS) and Zeenat Kureshi (Trade Commissioner, GCC). They honored the winners with medals and lauded their dedication. Both dignitaries encouraged the children and extended their best wishes for their bright future in the field of sports.

Road to Japan:
Highlighting the significance of the event, the Organizing Committee President, Shihan Aleem Shah, announced that the top performers from this championship have been selected for the upcoming “Indo-Japan International Karate Championship.” This prestigious international tournament is scheduled to take place in Kagawa, Japan, from July 3rd to 5th. The Indian delegation to Japan will be led by Chief Instructor Kyoshi Hasan Ismaeel and Shihan Aleem Shah.
