‘Ayurveda@Home’ Book Launched in Toronto on Ayurveda Day 2026

Toronto [Canada], September 23: Ayurveda@Home – Secrets of Wellness & Home Remedies from Your Kitchen, a practical guide to Ayurvedic wellness, preventive health, diet, lifestyle and traditional kitchen-based remedies, was formally launched in Toronto during the Ayurveda Day 2026 celebration.

The book was launched by Mr. Mahaveer Singhvi, Consul General of India, Toronto, at a special function held at the Consulate General of India (CGI), Toronto.

Authored by Vaidya Harish Kumar Verma, B.A.M.S. (Gold Medalist), DNM (Canada), a senior Ayurvedic physician, educator and author, and Rohit Mehra (IRS), environmentalist popularly known as the “Green Man” of India, the book aims to make the practical wisdom of Ayurveda accessible to families in India and around the world.

Ayurveda@Home explains how commonly available kitchen ingredients such as turmeric, ginger, tulsi, cinnamon, cumin, garlic, cardamom, black pepper and coriander have traditionally been used as part of healthy food and wellness practices.

The book covers around 40 common and complex health conditions, including acidity, constipation, fatty liver, cold and cough, diabetes, joint pain, migraine, PCOS, rheumatoid arthritis, hair loss, skin disorders, stress and anxiety. It also discusses symptoms, modern investigations, Ayurvedic perspectives, diet, lifestyle and supportive home-care approaches in simple language.

According to Vaidya Harish Kumar Verma, the objective of the book is to encourage greater awareness about prevention, healthy eating, digestion, daily routines and individual Ayurvedic constitution.

“Wellness can begin at home, and the kitchen can be one of the first places to start,” said Vaidya Verma.

The book also includes sections on children’s wellness and immunity, women’s hormonal health, digestive wellness, healthy ageing, Vata-Pitta-Kapha constitutions, and two special chapters on Vriksha Ayurveda, highlighting the relationship between human health and environmental wellbeing.

While primarily written for families and general readers, Ayurveda@Home can also serve as a practical reference for Ayurvedic students, interns, young B.A.M.S. doctors and practitioners.

The book has been published in English and Hindi, with editions in other Indian languages planned. It is currently available on www.Amazon.in with wider international availability planned.
